This Is The One Store That Needs To Return To Great Falls

In Great Falls plenty of people discuss what stores should or shouldn't open in our town.  It seems everyone is in agreement that we need and want an Olive Garden. On the flip side of that coin, we're all in agreement we don't need more tire shops, mattress stores or casinos. There is however one business that Great Falls used to have and we need it back more than anything else.

Before I tell you what store that is I just want you to know, there is no possibility of this store reopening in Great Falls. Zero Zilch Nada. That's because this store went defunct in 2016. So what store do I want to return more than anything else?

Yep, I want Hastings Entertainment to return to Great Falls. Honestly, it doesn't have to be Hastings, I just want an entertainment store to return to Great Falls.  I want to walk through aisles of movies, music and books and be able to pick them up and touch them.

Now before you accuse me of yelling at kids to get off my lawn, just know that I love digital streaming. It's very convenient to use, especially when you think of a movie or song that you haven't in a while and to then be able to instantly watch or listen to it. It's honestly *chefs kiss*

There is something to be said though about flipping through the CD racks, or checking out the DVD cases (I'm so old, I could have said VHS boxes).

I realize there are places I can buy books, CDs or movies in Great Falls. However even in places that still sell them, the sections are smaller than they were just 10 years ago. Physical media, at least right now it seems, is going the way of the dinosaur.

So I'd love to see a store like Hastings return to Great Falls, a true media entertainment store. Plus even if I end up just browsing for an hour and not buying anything, it's not much different than scrolling through Netflix and not finding anything. At least this way I've gotten off the couch and that's gotta count for something, right?
