This annoying little insect is responsible for over 700,000 deaths worldwide each year but thankfully isn't a death sentence here in America thanks to malaria vaccines.
Still, while we don't have to worry about death, their bites are very annoying, not to mention itchy, but there are ways to reduce your interaction with these pests.
Plant These & Mosquitoes Will Hate Your Backyard
The easiest way to avoid a swarm of mosquitoes buzzing around this summer is to minimize standing water on your property.
This is how these little buggers breed, so it's a good idea to check around your house and dump that water out when you find some.
Beyond that, by planting the plants found in the gallery below, they'll help repel them from your yard, and you get the bonus of a wonderful-looking (and smelling) garden.
