Walgreens’ Saline Nasal Spray Is Being Recalled
I've always been scared to use nasal sprays for extended periods after learning just how addictive products like Afrin are.
That being said, the relief that comes is a blessing, so it's not surprising plenty of companies produce similar products.
The company responsible for the latest recall is Walgreens, and it's their brand that's being recalled across both Montana and America.
The exact product involved in this FDA recall is the Walgreens-branded Saline Nasal Spray with Xylitol due to a contamination of a microorganism known as pseudomonas lactis.
What Is Pseudomonas Lactis?
It's the scientific term for the tiny bacteria that you will sometimes find in raw cow's milk or spoiled dairy products.
This is a pretty serious recall, as it's a Class II recall, which means if you use this product, it could result in “temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences.”
