The Importance of Healthcare Workers in Montana

During the COVID pandemic, we all got a real reminder of just how important our healthcare workers are.

At that time, there was a huge demand for nurses, and we felt it right here in Montana. But it also raises the question, were they treated well, and is Montana still a good place for nurses to find work?

WalletHub Ranking of Best States for Nurses

Nursing isn’t easy. It’s long hours, tough conditions, and sometimes dealing with patients who can be pretty difficult.

Still, if you’re willing to take that on, the pay can be solid. The average annual wage for nurses is getting close to $100K.

And if you go the travel nurse route, you can make even more, especially if you’re willing to move around and go where the demand is highest.

WalletHub recently looked at each state’s healthcare industry and ranked how appealing they are for new nurses coming out of school. They considered things like job openings per capita, average salaries, overtime rules, and even the quality of nursing homes.
