Here is our weekly phone interview with Great Falls Americans head hockey coach Greg Sears.

Randy: Coach although last week against Helena was a loss, there's still a lot that can be learned from it.

Coach Sears: It was a good measuring game for us just to see where we're at against a really good team. We're going to take a lot of video from this game and try to get better this week, but our spirits are fine. Hockey in September, so trying to be positive and look forward to Yellowstone this weekend.

Randy: What are some of the things that you're going to want to work on?

Coach Sears: Most pressing, biggest things’ discipline, not falling into some traps and staying out of the box. Can't play a team like that shorthanded and when we do they make us pay. So that's the biggest thing.

Randy: you touched on this weekend. It's a Friday and a Saturday. It will be your first back-to-back. How is the kids' shape?

Coach Sears: We're getting there. We're excited to have two games this weekend. Yellowstone always plays us good. We're going to work hard today for sure and we'll be ready to go Friday.

Randy: What do you expect from Yellowstone? Are they a power team, a speed team?

Coach Sears: They're young and good. It's a brand-new club there. They only have two returners, and one is in the net who is pretty solid kid from overseas but brand-new coach, brand new team. So, they're going to come in and work hard for him them and we'll watch some tape and we'll be ready.

Randy: As always coach, we wish you the best of luck and we'll talk to you next week.

Coach Sears: Thanks a lot Randy.

Game time is 7:30 both Friday and Saturday at the GF Ice Plex, 4001 29th St SW, Great Falls.  The game can also be seen on Hockey TV.  Go to GF Americans website to see the entire schedule.
